Tiger lily (Lilium lancifolium) - Ready to Bloom

“Now, I am no expert, but…”
Do you think people who really think they are experts just say that as a quick defense just in case they are wrong? I believe that there are a lot of people out there who think they are correct most of the time, but say this little line…oh, just in case they might look like a fool in the near future.
With that said, I am no expert, but I believe I am dealing with some Tiger Lilies (Lilium lancifolium) here. Take a look at the photos below…
I really didn’t know what the big bulbs I put in the ground last Autumn would turn out to be. Then, this Spring, I saw them starting to sprout with some funky looking leaves, but now, I am almost sure they are Tiger Lilies.
These bulbs were given to us, along with a mix of a bunch of other bulbs by Laura’s friend. Many more “things” are still coming up with crazy looking buds…I am sure I will figure them out too.
I will post some photos of these Tiger Lilies when they bloom.
