Worth more than I paid. January 9, 2009 Sheila Miel So I spent alot of time researching my camera before I purchased it because I was very happy with the digital camera I purchased 8 years ago so I was very careful. I was not giving up a good camera for a good camera..I wanted a great camera. My old camera took forever to load between pictures (which I saw as I was researching is the command complaint for older cameras) so that was one of my number one concerns also I am a very big scrapbooker and I wanted to make sure that I could enlarge pictures easily to 8x10 or crop without a problem. I had a budget of $150 and I spent only $90 and I believe that it was so worth it. I have taken through the holidays around 200 to 300 pictures and used the video feature. I have uploaded the video for family to see presents being opened at Christmas and I have printed around 200 of the pictures and I very happy with the quality of what I have, no problem with enlargements or cropping. Very good camera for the price.
Nice point n shot cam with energy consumption fault January 8, 2009 A. WEI (USA) I bought this camera during the Thanksgiving sales. Very good value with its price. And the brand Nikon also has value. color is ok (I took two years of photograhy in college), sharpness is good and I like the contrast. The large LCD screen is its main value; But it eats battery like crazy. It consumes one pair of AA batteries in a day of shooting of around 50-60 pictures and 2 videos. I paid $89.00 for the cam, but I expect another $89.00 for the battery soon.
Very good basic camera January 7, 2009 Patrick G. Woosley (Houston, TX) I like the fact that the camera uses a AA battery and has a view finder. Although the screen is great, I occasionally like to use a view finder. Had a Canon A530 before (until it was accidentally ruined). Like the smaller size and the bigger screen of the Nikon. The delay between the flash and the picture gives subjects time to close their eyes.
very slow shutter speed January 7, 2009 Tammy Peterson nikon makes very good camaras. the only problem i have with my camara is the shutter speed is very slow. by the time the pic is taken the moment has passed. otherwise very nice camara.
Coolpix is Cool!!! January 6, 2009 S. V. Barone (Bronx,NY) The Nikon Coolpix L18, is a great starter camera for the serious picture taker! With 8 Megapixels and 3x optical zoom, it helps the casaual photographer to aspire to better hieghts! Could be more useful with a rechargable lithium-type battery as it does run through the standard AA batteries.
