The Voyager gives you access to V CAST Video--Verizon Wireless' multimedia service with news, sports and entertainment video clips, 3D games and more--as well as V CAST Music, which offers access to more than 2.4 million songs that can be purchased and downloaded over-the-air. Other features include a 2-megapixel camera/camcorder, MicroSD memory expansion, Bluetooth connectivity for headsets and stereo music streaming, multi-format digital music player, and optional GPS turn-by-turn navigation services. It operates on Verizon's 850/1900 CDMA frequencies, and offers fast connectivity through Verizon's EV-DO data network.

Featuring an interactive navigation touchscreen on the exterior, the LG Voyager opens to reveal a full QWERY keyboard.

Nicely compact, the LG Voyager measures just 0.71 inches thin and weighs 4.69 ounces.

The interior of the Voyager also includes a second widescreen (non-touch) LCD.
Verizon Service
With support for the EV-DO high-speed data standard, you'll enjoy fast access to the Internet and Verizon's multimedia services (additional charges applicable), with average download speeds ranging from 400 to 700 Kbps and peak rates up to 2 Mbps. (Learn more about where EV-DO coverage is offered.) The V Cast Music service enables you to download songs instantly to your phone, or purchase music through your PC and transfer the files to your phone. If purchased from your phone, you'll receive two copies of the song: a Windows Media Audio Pro Plus format at 64Kbps stereo is sent to your phone, and a Windows Media Audio 9 format at 160Kbps stereo is sent to your account in the V CAST Music online store for downloading to your PC. V Cast Music offers nearly 2 million songs, with more being added all the time.

With the V Cast Video service, you can stream or download video clips to your phone from a variety of news, entertainment, sports, and weather channels, including CNN, ABC News, E!, CBS Sports, The Weather Channel, and VH1.

Verizon's Get It Now wireless download service is also fully compatible with this phone. This pay-per-download service features application downloads, games and productivity tools. You can also personalize your handset with ringtone downloads using the Get It Now service.

With this GPS-enabled phone, you'll be able to access Verizon's VZ Navigator service (additional charges applicable) for voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions, heads-up alerts, local search of nearly 14 million points of interest in the US (such as landmarks, restaurants and ATMs), and detailed color maps. And Verizon's Chaperone service lets you easily locate your loved ones from your Verizon Wireless phone or PC in real time. After defining a zone, such as an area designating a school or summer camp, you'll be sent an alert via text message when the Chaperone handset enters or leaves the zone.

Phone Features
The tall candybar-style LG Voyager flips open to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard, which also includes four-way navigation and send/end keys. It features dual 2.81-inch LCD screens, with both offering a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and support for 262K colors. It's expandable via optional MicroSD memory cards with support for up to 8 GB of storage. The digital audio player is compatible with MP3, WMA, and AAC/AAC+ music files, and the phone includes dual speakers for music playback. Other camera features include a 2.5x zoom, spot metering, white balance settings, a variety of color effects, night mode, self timer, and three shutter sounds (with silent option). The Voyager provides storage for up to 1000 contact entries, with up to 5 numbers, two email addresses per entry, and Picture ID. Support is built in for text messaging and mobile IM. 5 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT!   August 12, 2008
Matthew Kunka (Canton, MI USA)
Yesterday I bought this phone. It was between the LG Dare and this one. The Dare was really hard to type on and you sometimes had to press hard. This one is very good sensitivity with the touch pad and the qwerty pad inside is easy and big. I had the U740 prior to this and the buttons were so small, it made everything hard. I'm so happy to have this now. The camera takes beautiful pictures, the internet is fast, it's all so fun!

1 out of 5 stars Does anyone have lots of problems with the Voyager every month where they have to get a new Voyager every month   July 29, 2008

I loved this phone when I bought it then my antenna for the mobile TV was loose where I had to hold the antenna when I was watching mobile TV so the antenna wouldn't easily more then with my 2nd one a month later I was watching mobile TV and I fliped it close then it totally froze on me then with my 3rd one a month later it was running really slow and one of the games I download stopped working where I had to remove the battery from it then put the battery back a minute later to see if it would run faster and it didn't and I had to redownload the game that stopped working in order to play it again then with my 4th one a month later I had the same problems as I had with my 3rd one. The internet on this phone is like the internet on a smartphone. So I would recommend getting a smartphone because you wouldn't have hardly any problems with a Windows Mobile, Palm Treo or Centro or a Blackberry smartphone. Do not waste the money and buy the Voyager because your going to have new problems with it every month where you would have to go to Verizon to see whats wrong with your Voyager every month where you wished you had bought a smartphone instead so you wouldn't be wasting your time going to Verizon to see wants wrong with your Voyager every month.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Phone   July 28, 2008

This phone is pretty sweet. If you want a touchscreen phone look no further. It is not an iphone killer. They are two completely different phones they just have a touch screen in common. This phone's touchscreen has pressure sensitive sensors where the iphone has heat and pressure sensors. Yes - the touch screen does feel different. They both take time to get used to. This phone is cool because you can use the touch screen or keypad. The keypad layout is ideal. You don't even need to open your phone to reply via txt, im, etc. If you want a sleek looking, high tech phone... pick one up. You won't be disappointed.

2 out of 5 stars It was AWESOME... when I first bought it   July 24, 2008

Alright I've had this phone for about 6 months now, and while at first I absolutely loved it - the infatuation is slowly starting to wear off and now a lot of the great features are just annoyances. First off, the phone is in no way a 'iphone killer' and lacks a lot of the capabilities of an iphone (the new apps 2.0 feature on the iphone completely blows away the voyager). But here are some of the pros:

Pros:
Texting is a breeze with the full QWERTY keyboard
Internal Speakers are very nice
Pretty Good Battery Life
Looks Great (when new)

Cons:
THE SCREEN SCRATCHES very easily. Mine has a very obvious scratch in it, and my friend's voyager has a very big permanent scratch and many small scratches
Touch Screen is not nearly as friendly as itouch or iphone
Web Browsing is very slow and difficult to navigate (Trying to scroll down on a webpage with the touch side you can easily accidentally click a link to another page)
BULKY -especially if you get it with a case (which you'll probably need), not very slim at all
Camera Lighting is horrible - no flash, my friend's razor took better indoor pictures than mine without a flash
Camera is very hard to take a self-portrait of 2 people with (always a blur)
It is very easy to make mistakes on touch screen side when dialing numbers or texting even after calibrating
Mobile TV doesn't seem to work ANYWHERE
You have to pay 2.99 to use GPS each time, or 9.99 a month
The Lock feature is such a HASSLE, for instance if i want to quickly silence my phone i have to try and find the sliding switch on the side, silence it, and push down HARD on it again - not as simple as just hitting a button on the iphone or closing the lid
Expensive

So sure, if is great right off the bat. It looks nice and seems to have tons of features. But once you realize, TV doesnt work, web-browsing sucks, and the GPS is too expensive to ever use - it's just a regular cell. A cell phone that looks nice - but in a few months will look pretty horrible with all the scratches and dinks in it. Or you can get a case, which just makes it even bulkier. I would recommend getting the cheaper alternative LG env2 which basically cuts out all the problems I just mentioned, while keeping the pros. Or you can really reward yourself and get the new 3g iphone. Just don't make the same mistake I did and buy this phone solely on looks.

4 out of 5 stars Really Enjoy this Phone   July 16, 2008
J. Brown (Nashville, TN)
I bought this phone a few days ago through verizon for a great price. I love the touch screen, texting, the mobile tv and the web. It has a lot of capabilites on it that are really neat. The tv works great although there are only about eight channels (and I hear it only works in certain areas). There is not autofill on the texting but that is ok since there is a full keyboard so I don't really need that.

The only reason why I don't give five stars is because sometimes when I am talking on the phone I hear my own echo. I tried turning the volume down and that seems to have helped some.
