Stay far away from this unit August 18, 2008 Fobulous (Sugar Land, TExas) This is a bad unit as it has a confirmed firmware issue that Motorola is refusing to fix. After 3 days of flawless operation, the unit started to Reboot itself which is beyond annoying. My wife informed me that during the day time the modem could reboot 20 times.
I will promptly return this unit to Amazon.
Good Modem August 17, 2008 Joel Ragsdale 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this modem to replace my old Comcast rental modem. I expected to see a big improvement on download speed but it didn't really happen. Anyway, the modem serves its purpose.
Basic and stable August 10, 2008 George R. Ribeiro (So Cal, USA) You just can't go wrong with the Motorola Surfboard cable modem. It's basic, simple, stable and it's performance is exceptional. It's a win win decision to get one of these and stop paying exorbitant modem rental charges to your ISP.

Seems to be faster than my other modem July 31, 2008 G. Kloeppel I bought this modem because Comcast told me that was my problem with internet connectivity issues. It was not, but I did find that the internet worked faster with this one vs. my Linksys modem.
