I got this because there are so many good reviews out there, and the concept sounds like it could really work. Initially, the fans on my computer wouldn't come on anymore, which I thought to mean that it was working. However, after less than a month, my computer was hotter than ever, the fans were blasting, even my lap got warm. I examined the product, and the same basic structure was exactly the same, except many of the white fibers had turned black. I don't know if this has anything to do with it not working anymore, but I was really disappointed. The only thing I can think of is that sometimes I didn't set it on my lap, but rather on a table or on my bed, something more solid. This may have really affected its performance. Perhaps it's only meant for a lap. Either way, it is very inexpensive compared to laptop fans, so perhaps it's worth a try.

I bought this off the Notebookbuddy website (it was shipped very quickly, too).
My laptop was overheating all the time, but I really like to sit with it propped up on my legs. It was even shutting down due to overheating, so I looked into getting a fan. I decided on this product because it looked more comfortable to use- I didn't want to have to hold a fan on my lap, too. I've had it for a week now and it's been working really well. My laptop's fan is at the bottom, so there is now room for it to pull in more cool air. My laptop hasn't been getting hot at all when I use it, just a little bit warm at the back by the monitor.
So far I really like the notebook buddy. Plus, it's comfortable.

I love it. Light, durable, and flexible to fit perfect on my lap. My laptop used to be really hot on my lap, but no more. I am amazed at how much cooler the laptop is even after running for long periods of time. Easy, light, durable, and a must have!

What a great product! It is so light and compact ~ easy to pack and pull out wherever I am! It is perfect for travel and so easy to use anywhere, and it is so effective at keeping me cool when working. There are no hard edges or fans to worry about. Everyone who has seen it has asked me where to get it! I love it!

The NotebookBuddy actually works. I have tried other laptop coolers that are big and bulky, they are expensive, and in the end they don't actually allow me to use my laptop on my lap. The NotebookBuddy delivers! Now I can work on my lap and I can take it with me anywhere because it is so easy to pack and it doesn't add any weight to my carrying bag.
