Amazon.com Kid safety is an important, yet often difficult topic of discussion between parents and children. The Safe Side's "Safe Side Super-Chick" is a decidedly zany host who successfully combines slapstick humor with serious, practical safety tips for kids. "Safe Side Super-Chick" breaks the population down into three quickly discernable categories: "Safe Side Adults" that kids know well and can always trust to keep them safe, "Don't Knows" like the mail carrier or the lady at the park and "Sorta Knows" like a coach or a schoolmate's parent. As "Safe Side Super-Chick" interacts with "Don't Knows" and "Sorta Knows", she offers seven specific safety tips to keep kids safe and, with the help of real kids, details simple, concrete actions and phrases that empower kids in a variety of potentially dangerous situations. Best of all, the presentation is never scary, but always extremely funny--that means that kids ages 2 to 10 will actually enjoy learning about safety. Kudos to Julie Clark (creator of Baby Einstein) and John Walsh (host of America's Most Wanted) for creating a safety video that's highly entertaining, informative, and practical. --Tami Horiuchi

Great video August 28, 2008 Rita Hardison (Concordia, Mo. United States) This is a great video for children. It is quite corney for adults, but of course it is for children. If it helps keep our children safe then it is worth a million dollars!!!
Outstanding! August 14, 2008 bossychick I have a 4 1/2 year old and had been struggling with how to have the stranger danger talk with her. This video presented the subject better than I or her dad ever could.
Initially she didn't want to watch it, but about 5 minutes in, she said, "I love this movie!" She was eager to talk to me about it - the video really helped her understand who she can trust and who she can't.
The way dangerous situations are depicted are great - realistically, but not scary (I didn't want her to be terrorized, thinking all strangers were out to hurt her).
I can't recommend this video enough.
Fun and informative August 13, 2008 Caryn (LA) My kids love this DVD. It is fun, and yet extremely informative about staying safe in a very uncertain world. The lessons are so fun, they just stick in your head. They even stick in the head of all the adults:) Highly recommend!
Great help in teaching kids about strangers July 18, 2008 TLH (CA) The video is kept my kids attention the whole time. The "safe side super chick" is a little wacky; however, the lesson was learned and my kids want to watch the video. I would recommend this to any parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles etc., just be sure to watch with your children.
IT'S JUST OK......... EXPECTED IT TO BE ALOT BETTER!! June 27, 2008 ILuv2shop (The burbs) This dvd is a good start to practicing safety measures with your children. To me, there's just way too much goofy stuff going on to where the children loose the concept of the safety measure being taught. I watched it with my 5 1/2 year old daughter. Sometimes "Super Chick" talks too fast & with all the different charactars she takes on during the video it becomes confusing. I think she's trying too hard to be funny & silly to get the kids attention but it ends up taking away from the safety lessons being taught. I expected it to be ALOT better.
